If he really suggested imposing martial law, that's (I believe) sedition. An entirely new criminal act for which he's yet to be charged, and for which he thus cannot be pardoned. Perhaps Flynn really wants to go to prison, after all.

Trump would have to take further concrete steps before opening himself to a charge of sedition—a very rare instance in all of US history. In any event, the Trump appointees and enablers in this Justice Department will do nothing to stop him.

I think he is referring to Flynn

Trump is so fearful of being seen as a loser that he’s gone completely mad. That’s why he continues to entertain these diabolical people that surround him and whisper conspiracy into his ears. They are in it for the money too, just like trump is fleecing his followers.

"they're incompetent" and "the military is loyal" is cold comfort. They have well-placed allies in every relevant agency, they have allies in every military branch rank and file and they have access to at least two unwell, unregulated "armies": Eric Prince and various militia groups.

Eric Prince and blackwater or whatever they're calling themselves now vs the US military would be a turkey shoot.

LOL LEFTIST!? BIAS!?....you mean leaning towards the US Constitution?

If the US Constitution is too leftist for you and reports of a sitting president who lost re-election openly discussing a military coup is just another day — then perhaps you have moved so far-right-conspiracy-outer-fringe, that you are no longer recognizable as an American?

Excuse me, but I think you have that backward: The defeated president is trying to prevent the duly elected president from taking office. And he’s weighing a military coup. Our reporting on that is not bias, it’s called journalism.

If you do not believe that Biden has been duly elected, then you’ve been duped by Trump propaganda or are willfully spreading malicious disinformation. And for that I’ll have to shut you down here now. I encourage debate, but won’t allow trolling and lies.

You just proved his point Jeff.

Impeachment is in the Constitution; impeachment is not a coup.

Thank you for verifying that President Clinton’s impeachment was an attempted Republican coup. What was he nearly removed from office for? Lying. Hmmm. Seems so quaint, now.

I'd like you to remember ALL the Republicans that hated trump before he was a sitting president.

I have seen videos of Graham, Rubio, Cruz etc. They did not approve of trump one iota.

Zilch... but when he named Chao for transportation, things seemed to change. Hummm...

Judging by his deceptive—and deadly—handling of the pandemic alone, he is not at all effective. As a business man, he’s presided over several failures and scams—Trump University, to cite just one—and had to declare bankruptcy several times. His foundations have been put out of business for misuse of funds. He’s under investigation in NY State for tax fraud.

The sitting president was accused of trying to exchange money and weapons for lies about Joe Biden by Ukraine! Far, far from an innocent moron-in-chief!

“Liberal left” is a rhetorical contraption by Trump Republicans to demonize all Democrats. “Liberals” and “the left” are distinctly different political groupings. You can look it up. Trump was a impeached and acquitted along party lines.

Trump knows, even if he gets Pence to pardon him, Cyrus Vance will indict Trump and members of his administration who committed crimes in New York State and they, if found guilty, will go to jail.

The Republican Party is split in two right now. They picked the wrong horse, and one with Hoof and Mouth Disease.

We were warned by President Obama himself, to no avail, in a farewell speech.

The Fox News Organization is exacerbating the situation and should be punished as well.

It is America’s lowest moment, but as one who lived my entire life in America, I know deep in my heart, our Country will never allow a coup to happen.

That a pardoned criminal is even allowed back in the Oval (a pardon is an admission of guilt) is outrageous. And orange titler cannot have access to intelligence once he’s out of office. To do that he must be charged w treason.

The extent to which Russian money has penetrated Trump circles and parts of the Republican party should be investigated, seriously. Follow the money trail.

You are completely overlooking the fact that what Biden did was get rid of a corrupt Ukrainian Attorney General and was backed by not only our allies involved in cleaning up Ukraine but was written in the very deal with the United States that gave them the money...clean up your country's corruption in order to receive the assisstance.

I'm old enough to remember seeing photos of trump with underage girls at Studio 54, in magazines during the 1970s. That being said, when he ran for president, I thought it was a hoax; how could people vote for a man like him. They said he was a successful businessman, yet he has over 6 bankruptcies to his credit. That is a good businessman??? Yet, he won the election. Why, because uninformed, misinformed, lied to people voted for him. And what they voted for was something different then the usual political statesmen/stateswomen. They wanted someone they thought & were led to believe, was for the average working stiff in this country. When they got NOTHING, they still cheered him because of his lies. And now, with this current election, over 70 MILLION people still voted for him. After all his lies, his telling the country the virus was a hoax, yet over 300,000 AMERICANS ARE DEAD FROM IT. It's time for trump to concede he lost, pack his bags, & leave the White House with his CRIME family tagging along behind. We do not need mad midnight tweets about things that are NOT real. What we need is INTEGRITY, HONESTY, DECENCY, ACTUAL CARING ABOUT THE ELECTORATE INSTEAD OF MILLIONAIRS/BILLIONAIRS. We need a real president, not this cartoon character that won't keep his promises to the people but will keep his threats to any political person or party. I write this because I'm tired of all this bs, all this angst, anger, stupidity; the uncaring president for WE THE PEOPLE, the uncaring president who caused over 300,000 AMERICANS to die from a virus THE PRESIDENT CALLED A HOAX. I'm tired of the pittance called Social Security that I have to live on being threatened by a man who prefers Russian interference (he said so himself, ON TV after winning the 2016 election) to his own countrymen who VOTED HIM INTO OFFICE. For once, trump, be a dignified person & concede the election & go back to your gold apartment in New York. Just go home.

Differences of opinion are welcome here. But since several vote recounts, conducted in many states by Republican officials, followed by failed court challenges to invalidate the vote, have proved your views to be utterly false and nothing more Trump/Russia/Qanon talking points and disinformation, I'm forced to ban you from this site.

Well with the luxury of time elapsed, it appears this was much ado about nothing. I was surprised however to discover the abundant supply of pearl clutchers in the community. All seemingly eager to add to the public record their own dark forebodings about these entirely imaginary events. On second thoughts, it's really no surprise at all.
