If he really suggested imposing martial law, that's (I believe) sedition. An entirely new criminal act for which he's yet to be charged, and for which he thus cannot be pardoned. Perhaps Flynn really wants to go to prison, after all.

"they're incompetent" and "the military is loyal" is cold comfort. They have well-placed allies in every relevant agency, they have allies in every military branch rank and file and they have access to at least two unwell, unregulated "armies": Eric Prince and various militia groups.

Trump knows, even if he gets Pence to pardon him, Cyrus Vance will indict Trump and members of his administration who committed crimes in New York State and they, if found guilty, will go to jail.

The Republican Party is split in two right now. They picked the wrong horse, and one with Hoof and Mouth Disease.

We were warned by President Obama himself, to no avail, in a farewell speech.

The Fox News Organization is exacerbating the situation and should be punished as well.

It is America’s lowest moment, but as one who lived my entire life in America, I know deep in my heart, our Country will never allow a coup to happen.

That a pardoned criminal is even allowed back in the Oval (a pardon is an admission of guilt) is outrageous. And orange titler cannot have access to intelligence once he’s out of office. To do that he must be charged w treason.

The extent to which Russian money has penetrated Trump circles and parts of the Republican party should be investigated, seriously. Follow the money trail.

I'm old enough to remember seeing photos of trump with underage girls at Studio 54, in magazines during the 1970s. That being said, when he ran for president, I thought it was a hoax; how could people vote for a man like him. They said he was a successful businessman, yet he has over 6 bankruptcies to his credit. That is a good businessman??? Yet, he won the election. Why, because uninformed, misinformed, lied to people voted for him. And what they voted for was something different then the usual political statesmen/stateswomen. They wanted someone they thought & were led to believe, was for the average working stiff in this country. When they got NOTHING, they still cheered him because of his lies. And now, with this current election, over 70 MILLION people still voted for him. After all his lies, his telling the country the virus was a hoax, yet over 300,000 AMERICANS ARE DEAD FROM IT. It's time for trump to concede he lost, pack his bags, & leave the White House with his CRIME family tagging along behind. We do not need mad midnight tweets about things that are NOT real. What we need is INTEGRITY, HONESTY, DECENCY, ACTUAL CARING ABOUT THE ELECTORATE INSTEAD OF MILLIONAIRS/BILLIONAIRS. We need a real president, not this cartoon character that won't keep his promises to the people but will keep his threats to any political person or party. I write this because I'm tired of all this bs, all this angst, anger, stupidity; the uncaring president for WE THE PEOPLE, the uncaring president who caused over 300,000 AMERICANS to die from a virus THE PRESIDENT CALLED A HOAX. I'm tired of the pittance called Social Security that I have to live on being threatened by a man who prefers Russian interference (he said so himself, ON TV after winning the 2016 election) to his own countrymen who VOTED HIM INTO OFFICE. For once, trump, be a dignified person & concede the election & go back to your gold apartment in New York. Just go home.

What would happen to any other group of people that would even breathe such thoughts, the least of actual having a meeting verbally discussing it in the White House?

Well with the luxury of time elapsed, it appears this was much ado about nothing. I was surprised however to discover the abundant supply of pearl clutchers in the community. All seemingly eager to add to the public record their own dark forebodings about these entirely imaginary events. On second thoughts, it's really no surprise at all.

I read a comment from another reader here that this was "much ado about nothing" and "entirely imaginary events". But I thought it was covered in the J6 hearings?
