A spookworld timeout with a public health message
Jeff, great message. Like you, we discovered an aneurysm incidental to another issue. (an ultrasound is sufficient for screening). I have described the same feeling, like have a grenade ready to go off in your chest. I also had a successful repair, and yes it is one heckuva surgery. Good luck going forward!
Thanks for your story.especially at this time smoking is so popular
"Miles to go, things to do, people to see and not many places yet to go to." This might tempt some. But I will just wait and see.
It's a good public health message and I'm glad you're not going to die suddenly from a ruptured aorta! And I applaud the attention grabbing headline - though it would be more accurate to say "Smoking put my life at risk and medical screening plus surgery saved it" :)
Thank you for sharing your story, Jeff. Lives will be saved.
