Can you talk a bit please about the impact of the classified documents indictment -/ now a few weeks on -- on our Allies and whether they will be more reluctant now to share intel with the U.S., especially given the fact that the former president is polling well in his bid for 2024 and reelection. Allie’s must wonder whether America is coming out if this phase or has lost standing in the world due to our political instability and mishandling if intel at the highest levels of government.

Sorry I missed your question, Storer. It's an important one. If I were a NATO member on the front lines against Russia, I'd be scared sh*tless about a Trump return to power, given his past kowtowing to Putin.

To date, I still have so, so, so very many questions about the Hatfill story Jeanne Meserve reported on 20 years ago...

What is the Hatfill story?

Also rather curious about how Alberta Scheuer managed to stay on in the CIA while her husband called for the death of Biden & Obama...or for that matter to what extent the Hatfill/Scheuer connection can be fleshed out from 1997 to today... particularly given both Hatfill and Scheuer's involvement in Trump's circle...It was literally Hatfill's emails to Trump re "genetic bottlenecking" that were recycled as RFK Jr's "Covid is a Jewish-sparing disease" nonsense.

Right wing pundits keep telling us that there is a deep state active in the intelligence community. "Unelected manipulators" at work. How should a rational person respond to such stuff?

That's a tough one, Bill. Depends on whom you're responding to. I think it's always good to challenge such statements from conspiracy-minded pundits and "news" orgs. Friends and family who have gone down the conspiracy rabbit hole, on the other hand, pose a more difficult, complicated challenge and probably aren't receptive to reason. You can only grant that we do have an intelligence establishment, ie, agencies staffed by career professionals, but there's no evidence of "unelected manipulators"—unless you count Trump's effort to create fake electors.
