Just a few of the things we like about Valerie Plame are that she was born on an Air Force base, attended public schools and worked at a clothing store in D.C. while waiting acceptance into the CIA’s clandestine ops training program. We should have more people in public life who came up that way.

She’s also plucky, not just overcoming the shattering of her undercover CIA career by mendacious Bush White House officials, but going on to reinvent herself as a novelist, onetime congressional candidate and, over the last few years, spy conferences organizer par excellence. (Her next Spies, Lies & Nukes confab is scheduled for Nov. 9-12 in Santa Fe, New Mexico—details to follow.)

And she really likes us!

“SpyTalk is entertaining, informative, and always well-sourced,” she says. “I'm a fan and relieved to have a reliable and thoughtful resource for all things espionage and intelligence related."

And we’re relieved to have her as a touchstone on all things espionage.

So how about joining her as a paid subscriber? Every dollar goes to underwriting and expanding our editorial work. No hip offices with ping pong tables for us.

So we thank you in advance! See you around!

Prone to anti-Jewish conspiracy theories too.

All I know about Valerie is from the news; I know nothing about Valerie. But when I did know about such matters, the process for "deep cover" was to never let that person get near DC and send people out to train them. Her cover story never made sense to me. But who ever though news reports would be accurate? I am happy to see she is doing well.
