Five Eyes Rift: The U.K. and Canada have suspended intelligence-sharing with the U.S. over the Trump administration’s attacks on boats in the Caribbean and Pacific, CNN reported. Dutch intelligence officials previously said they were restricting sharing over concerns about the “politicization of intelligence” and “human rights violations,” TIME reminded. “Sometimes you have to think on a case‑by‑case basis: can I still share this information or not?” said Erik Akerboom—director-general of the AIVD, the General Intelligence and Security Service of the Netherlands—in an interview with Dutch outlet De Volkskrant on Oct. 18. “We cannot say what we do or do not share. But we are more critical.”
