An ATF bomb expert's advice in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics bombing should be followed in the Nashville case
A wizened ATF agent in the hit TV series Manhunt: Deadly Games has some good advice for the FBI or anyone else following the explosion in Nashville: “Listen to the bomb.”
The “significant” blast in downtown Nashville early Christmas morning immediately gave rise to myriad conspiracy theories—the most prominent being it was set off to give President Trump a casus belli to declare martial law. Or that it might be the opening shot in a campaign of terror on Trump’s behalf. The fact that the bomb was planted in an RV parked overnight outside the 33-story AT&T Building will no doubt generate theories that the perp had a beef against the global telecommunications giant because it owns CNN, the constant butt of “fake news” epithets by the president and his fans.
Police said the explosion, which damaged 20 buildings and wounded three people, was preceded by a tape recording emanating from the vehicle in which a woman’s voice warned that the bomb would go off in 15 minutes.
