It's bad enough that Patel and Bongino are Trump fanatics and rank amateurs. They are also in a position to use the polygraph to rig "evidence" on which to base the firing of any FBI employee they choose. It will be all too easy. What is that "evidence?" Can't tell you. National security matter. Off limits. Never mind that the polygraph is an unreliable instrument.

Traditionally, the FBI has been wary of the polygraph and did not bring it into use in the hiring process until after Robert Hanssen was arrested as a Soviet/Russian spy a quarter of a century ago. Never mind the odds that wrongfully dismissed FBI employees might betray their country. Worry, instead, that there may be no FBI at all.

This is obvious. There is a huge market for them out there. It is unfortunate. I don't assume the people replacing the ones fired will even have the skills to catch them
