And not MORE but MICE. Gettin’ old.

Not Choate, Chalker. Sorry.

Why not prosecute an obvious breach of contract ? Easy. Choate is back at his old job, with or without permission, with or without clandestine personal contact: any Iranian scientist reading the article understands your D in MORE and the Agency relationship with t he e Israelis. All (!) he or she has to do is find his or her way to a US embassy and walk in. Tradecraft follows as the price of striking off that D…

Good write-up, Jeff. The special ops assassination graf jumped out at me, too. If that happened, I suspect it would have to be through contractors, not active-duty folks, but who knows.

Thanks, Seth. In the New Yorker story, Chalker says he worked as a contractor after leaving CIA.

Given Trump's enthusiasm for foisting Snepp-like non disclosure agreements on Pentagon-based journalists and enforcing just such a covenant against apostate John Bolton, it is difficult to believe that this new truth-teller-turned-tattler wont have his head handed to him. Perhaps the Iranian diversion will keep His Majesty too distracted to do damage to the First Amendment in this case. Hope springs eternal.

Thx for your comment, Frank. CIA seems not planning any action against Chalker—as of today, anyway. DOJ might be a bit distracted today as well. But I'll be keeping an ear to the ground.

Informative and interesting. Wasn't there another article that mentioned MICE, along with a great "school" book?

M.I.C.E. has been much discussed in the intelligence literature over the decades, including by me at SpyTalk and my previous postings. See, for example: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/cia-approved-psychiatrist_b_177671

Frank Snepp has his own substack. I will wait to see if he has his comments.
