A few weeks ago an intriguing ad appeared in the Jerusalem Post, one of Israel’s two leading English language newspapers and websites. It invited readers to participate in an intriguing "Mossad Mission." However, the “mission” had no connection to Israel's legendary foreign espionage agency—at least not officially. It was an ad inviting people to “The Mossad Mission to Israel 2025,” a public relations-cum-tourism exercise using former Mossad operatives to plug Israeli military and intelligence policies. A major feature: “riveting tours to the strategic northern and southern fronts and Gaza border checkpoints.”

“Go behind the scenes of Israel’s legendary Mossad!” it adds. “Receive briefings from former Mossad agents, Shin Bet Commanders, and IDF intelligence operations officers.”
